Municipal Business Centre

The Municipal Business Centre (MBC) was established in Kaliningrad as a result of intensive collaboration activities in cooperation with Danish partners (County of Funen) within the framework of the TACIS Project "Support of the Kaliningrad Authorities in SME Development, Including the Strengthening of the Kaliningrad Business Centre".

MBC is the first organization in Kaliningrad which is closely connected to the City Hall and supported directly by the local authorities in the framework of SME support and development, being one of the main priorities in the city development. Foreign Relations Department and Economic Development Committee provide ongoing and active assistance to the Municipal Business Centre.

The MBC is a well functioning structure with qualified personnel, premises in the central part of the city, modern equipment for implementing all the activities necessary for SME support (organization of trainings, providing information and consultancy, etc.).

The MBC presents the first results achieved during the short-time period:

  • Database has been developed including all necessary information about clients and partners
  • Pilot seminars on "Starting and operating a small business" and "Sales and Marketing" under the supervision of the Danish experts has been carried out; among the participants there were entrepreneurs (more than 30), teachers from Kaliningrad Trade and Economy College, representatives from Kaliningrad Regional Department of Ministry of Justice and KMB Bank
  • Training programmes and learning materials has been developed and adapted according to the peculiarities of the regional market
  • Consultancy has been provided to 4 Kaliningrad companies with the aim to give professional advice and present suggestions on their further development
