Obwód kaliningradzki chce więcej energii atomowej
Rząd Rosji i władze regionu aktywnie próbują rozwiązać problem zapewnienia obwodowi kaliningradzkiemu niezbędnych ilości energii elektrycznej. Uważam, że najlepszym wariantem byłoby wybudowanie u nas elektrowni atomowej - oświadczył Gieorgij Boos, gubernator obwodu kaliningradzkiego na konferencji prasowej.
Gubernator zaznaczył, że ostateczne decyzje jeszcze nie zapadły - trwa poszukiwanie optymalnego wariantu.
Boos nie zdradził szczegółów tego projektu. Podkreślił jedynie, że nie obejmuje on budowy na terytorium enklawy, wciśniętej pomiędzy Polskę i Litwę, składowiska na zużyte paliwo jądrowe.
- Będzie ono wywożone do specjalnych składowisk w Rosji właściwej - powiedział.
Za "duży plus" elektrowni atomowej w Kaliningradzie gubernator uznał jej autonomiczność i niezależność od tranzytu paliwa, jak w wypadku węgla, mazutu i gazu, z których obecnie korzysta region.
Według Boosa brany jest również pod uwagę wariant budowy w obwodzie kaliningradzkim pływającej elektrowni atomowej.

Visit of the delegation from Liepaja, the Republic of Latvia
On the 1-2 of February, 2007 the delegation from Liepaja (the Republic of Latvia) will visit Kaliningrad with the aim to discuss the possibility of future cooperation. The delegation is headed by Mr. Uldis Sesks, Chairman of Liepaja City Council. The delegation will also be accompanied by Mr. Y.M. Kotelnikov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Liepaja, one of the initiators of this visit since Kaliningrad does not have any partner-city in the Republic of Latvia.
During a two-day visit the guests from Liepaja will have the meeting with Mr. Y.A. Savenko, Head of the Kaliningrad City - Mayor of the City, visit Kaliningrad maritime trade port, Kaliningrad Chamber of Commerce and Industry in order to hold negotiations with the entrepreneurs from Kaliningrad over the issues of possible economic cooperation. The discussion of cooperation in the social sphere, youth affairs and sport will also take place. One of the heads of the football-hockey club
will hold separate negotiations in the Department of physical culture and sports within the Kaliningrad City Hall.
The visit is expected to facilitate the establishment of new partnership relations as well as the perspective signing of the Agreement on trade, economic, scientific and cultural cooperation.

Modernization of Kaliningrad Adult Evening Schools
A number of workshops titled within the framework of the Russian-Danish project will take place from 23 until 26 of January 2007. Foreign Relations Department realizes this project jointly with Education Department, Kaliningrad City Hall.
The applicant of the project and main partner is Fyns Amt, County of Funen, Labour Market and Adult Education Department, Denmark.
Within the framework of this activity a series of lectures including , , . One of the lectures of the Danish experts will be dedicated to the European methods of adult teaching.
The main objective of this visit is the immersion into the discipline called and familiarization with the European methods of adult education.
Danish experts will share their experience in this field with their Russian colleagues.

Young people with limited abilities from Kaliningrad will soon be able to undergo practical training in the German enterprises
This issue has been discussed during the negotiations which were held in the Foreign Relations Department within the Kaliningrad City Hall (9-11 of January, 2007). During the meeting the results of the visit of the Rostock delegation (Germany) headed by the Chairman of the Union of Young people with limited abilities from the Land Mecklenburg-Vorpommern have been reviewed. In the course of the three day's visit the guests have visited the municipal institutions, public organizations and educational institutions of the city working with people with limited abilities. They have acknowledged a high level of vocational training of these young people and submitted the proposal of the Union of entrepreneurs from Rostock. The heads of the enterprises from this city are ready to provide our young people with the working places for practical training.
Moreover, the return visit of the Kaliningrad delegation to Rostock is already planned to take place in summer. Our delegation will visit institutions for young people with limited abilities in Rostock.
Partnership relations between Kaliningrad and Rostock were established in 1999. Since that time our partners have repeatedly provided financial assistance for the reconstruction of social enterprises of our city dealing with children born to HIV-infected mothers, children suffering from tuberculosis, leukemia and mental disorders. Cooperation in the spheres of economics, culture, sport and education has been promoted. |
